The Soomo Webtext App provides deep integration of digital native content with formative assessments into your LMS course—including support for Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, and other LTI-based platforms.

This robust integration creates direct links from your course into a Soomo webtext and delivers scores as students complete coursework.

Canvas Administrators

It’s easy to set up the Soomo Webtext Link! Enable the Soomo Learning Webtext Tool LTI 1.3 Developer Key in your Canvas instance, add it to the root or appropriate subaccount, and share the Deployment ID with lms@soomolearning.com.

Instructors

Integrate your Soomo webtext into your LMS course shell using LTI links. Content can be deployed as links to individual modules or chapters.

Graded assignments will

• add a column to the Canvas (or other LMS) grade center and

• sync to those grade center columns, providing points earned in real time.

Data on the completion of formative assessment, scores, and timing is reflected in an analytics dashboard. Student Activity Summary reports are also provided by email to individual instructors on a weekly basis.

Students

Students benefit from single sign-on with access to their webtexts directly in the context of their course materials.

Step 1: Turn On the Soomo Learning Webtext Tool LTI 1.3 Inherited Key

Navigate to the Developer Keys page in the Admin menu and click the Inherited tab at the top of the page. Find the Soomo Learning Webtext Tool LTI 1.3 Key with the ID 170000000000770, and set it to On. To find the key, you may need to click Show All Keys at the bottom of the page.

Step 2: Add a New App Configuration

Navigate to the Apps menu within the root or subaccount where you’d like to install the integration tool, select Settings in the left sidebar, and click View App Configurations. Then add an app by clicking the Add App button and selecting By Client ID in the Configuration Type drop-down menu. Add the Client ID 170000000000770 and click Submit. Then click Install.

Step 3: Share the Deployment ID with Soomo Learning

After creating the App, click the gear icon and the Deployment ID button. Copy the Deployment ID shown in the pop-up window and share it with lms@soomolearing.com. Once this is complete, the App is ready for the instructor to use in their Canvas course. Soomo Learning will reach out to the instructor with instructions on how to do so.
